Dr.G.SubbaRao has over more than two decades of experience in aquaculture specializing in shrimp and fish technology at all stages of the culture cycle. He gained his Masters degree in Marine Sciences with specialization in Marine Biology from Andhra University and later obtained his doctorate degree from Centre of Advanced in Marine Biology, Annamalai University
Dr Rao is an experienced researcher and has published several articles in various International and National journals. Besides, he also participated in several seminars and workshops associated with aquaculture and technology development. He also delivered guest lectures for the Aquaculture students at CAS in Marine Biology, Annamalai University and also appointed as examiner for both PhD and  Mhil.
Dr. Rao gathered substantial commercial experience in facility design, operations and management of shrimp hatchery, algae and diatom culture, diseases diagnosis of various shrimp diseases using molecular techniques during the course of his career.

He has offered consultancy services to International and National Institutions, primarily the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (UNFAO), Italy and National Fisheries Development Board(NFDB) , Min.of Agriculture, Govt. of India. He also conducts private consultancies for a number of shrimp hatcheries in Andhra Pradesh

About research Centre

Dr. L.B.College, viskahapatnam is recognized as Research Centre by Andhra University, considering the following recommendations made by the Committee consitituted.

    • The P.G.Department of Microbiology of Dr. L.B.College be recognized as a Research Centre from 2007-08 Ph.D.Admissions.
    • Dr.T.Lalitha Govardhan and Dr. A. Nirmala be considered as a Research Guide in the Department of Microbiology.
    • However, the guides in the Department of Microbiology are only eligible to guide Part-time M.Phil and Ph.D.Scholars.
